Lyra’s P.O.V.:

The summer holidays are now almost just around the corner. Only a month left until the six week vacation begins. Most students have already lost interest to concentrates on their lessons. I am an exemplary student and I can't afford such a behavior.

Well, to be honest, I'm actually not even a human being. My name is Lyra and I am an archdemon. I'm the daughter of the Great Archangel Michael and a demon lady named Kayla. My father and I have argued a lot lately and then he suddenly forced me to do something meaningful. I should finish school in the human world to get a graduation. In the human world, I can begin an education and exercise a profession, but in the demon world I have no use for it.

Well, whatever. I will go through this last year and then it's fine. After that I can go back to Agaren. Luckily my friend Anubis accompanied me. Without him I would feel kinda lonely here. He says that he has accompanied me voluntarily, but I believe he was actually forced by Ra, to do a graduation too. Anyway. So that no one sees our true demon form, I have applied a spell that makes our demonic parts invisible. That spell is very helpful, because hiding large horns and large fluffy ears, would be very hard. But now enough of that.

Today is Monday, the worst day of the week. Long lessons with an unbearable heat. It's now exactly 7:30 AM. Me and Anubis are on the way to school. We live together in a flat, near school, which our fathers pay. Although we could go by bus, we always go on foot together. Anubis hates the humans and he can't endure them, so we try avoid large human masses.

As we walked along the main street, Anubis suddenly poked me into the side with his elbow.

"Hmh, what's wrong ...?" I asked quietly and turned my gaze to him.

Anubis was a bit bigger than me, so I had to lift my head a bit to look into his eyes.

He scratched his neck briefly before looking at me. "I've had such a bad feeling in my stomach since this morning," he hesitated a bit. "Something is different today."

I looked at Anubis calmly and then at the ground. Yes, I too had a queasy feeling in my stomach since this morning, but I didn't wanted to make him feel insecure.

"You've probably only eaten something wrong. It seems like the food of the humans isn't good for you," I replied, while going through my long hair with my hand. "Don't worry about it."

His cheeks blushed briefly, I had to giggle.

Ashamed, he turned his gaze away from me. "As if I was worried. I am a God, I never worry about such unimportant trifles."

I had to giggle again and looked along the street. It was definitely nothing bad, otherwise father would've already contacted me. Relaxed, we strolled along the path to school and talked about our notes and subjects. After a ten-minute walk we reached the school.

The school was like any other, not particularly neat but also not completely dilapidated. There was a large schoolyard with space for bicycles and a parking space for cars as well as a large cafeteria at the entrance. In the main building, all important school subjects take place, while secondary courses such as elective subjects and sports take place in the secondary buildings.

Together, Anubis and I entered the main building. In the entrance are several rows of cupboards in which we store our shoes. We can't enter the building with our street shoes, so we have to change our shoes. My compartment was directly above that of Anubis. I quickly took off my shoes, took the slippers out of the compartment, then put my street shoes in and put on the comfortable slippers. At home there should be such a regulation too, I thought, when I closed the door of my compartment. Then it would be less dirty.

I waited for Anubis, who was still taking off his shoes. He was a little clumsy with loops, but he didn't want me to help him.

Sighing, I put my head against the cupboard. "What do I have in the first teaching block? ... Oh yeah, mathematics", I murmured to myself. Anubis is unfortunately in another class, we only have a few subjects in common. While I have math, he has sports in the secondary building.

After he had finished, we went up the stairs together and he then bid farewell to me, in the hall on the first floor, at the door of my class. Luckly, we see each other again in the next break and then we have the same teaching block together.

I watched him as he slowly disappeared in the distance and then I turned my gaze into the classroom next to me. There were already some students. Logically, since the lessons would start in about five minutes. I hurried to my place, which was right at the window.

I threw my bag on the table, quickly took out my math book and opened the page from the last teaching block.

"Why do humans need math," I murmured as I browsed through the book.

At that moment, the loud voice of our teacher tore me out of my thoughts. As always, he trudged loudly and in a bad mood into the room, slammed his books on the table and puffed annoyed. Mr. Koroko, so his name, cleared his throat briefly, straightened his glasses and then turned his gaze to the class.

"Good morning class", he brought out behind his full beard. "Before we start teaching, I have a lot of things to announce."

Again? Lately, he has announced quite a lot of things. Well, it's shortly before the holidays, I guess that's normal.

"First of all, I would like to remind you that in the last week before the holidays the sports festival takes place. The best class wins and gets a big surprise! So work hard for it! Tomorrow we'll be making teams for the festival."

He quickly pushed his glasses back at his nose with his pointing finger, since they slid as usual. "Secondly, we have to choose a class representative before the holidays. This is what we will do tomorrow. And last but not least ...", he turned to the door of the classroom. "You get a new classmate today!"

A new classmate? So shortly before the holidays? I thought to myself as I played with my pencil.

The class was suddenly loud, many whispered among themselves, wondering how the new class member would look like. Would it be a sweet girl? Or a hot boy?

It's strange, what kind of things are important for humans. It doesn't matter what the new classmate looks like, or am I wrong?

Suddenly there was a knock at the door and everyone was suddenly quiet. Mr. Koroko puffed.

"Come in", he said sternly. The door opened slowly, with an unpleasant squeak and a boy with short blue shorts and the normal school uniform shirt entered the class room.

Although it was midsummer, he wore a brown cap. His right eye was hidden by an eyepatch, in the left corner of his mouth, a small, pointed tooth sticked out and a scar adorned the right side of his cheek and the angle of his mouth.

His strange, red-green eyes scanned the room as he walked slowly towards Mr. Koroko and finally stood next to him. His dark blue hair looked messy. What a strange guy.

"This is Ken”, Mr. Koroko finally broke the silence in the room. "And from now on, he's your new classmate. Take care of him! ... Preferably, one of you shows him the school ground."

He let his eyes wander through the class room and of course he stopped with me. "Lyra ...", as I heard my name, I couldn't help but give an annoyed sigh from me. "Yes?" I replied.

"Could you show Ken the school ground after this teaching block, please?" He asked as he tapped the dark blue-haired boy on his back.

"Of course ...", I answered after a few seconds.

"What? The new one is led by the beautiful and cool Lyra? I wish I could start school again and she would show me the school ground too", muttered a few boys in the corner.

I heard the whispers, of course.

For an inexplicable reason I seem to be very popular within the guys at this school. It's really annoying, when you want to avoid humans. They always talk to me and want something from me. And usually it's only unimportant stuff.

"Good", Mr. Koroko's voice brought me back from my thoughts. "Since next to Lyra is still a free place, you can sit directly there!", the teacher pointed to the free place next to me.

"Great," I muttered.

Ken’s P.O.V.:

Great, now I can sit next to the school swarm. I thought to myself, a bit annoyed, as I went to my new place. I felt the eyes of my classmates on me, and they were by no means friendly. They whispered about my nature and appearance. What, never seen a boy with an eye patch and a scar before?

I sat down on my new seat and turned my gaze to the girl next to me, Lyra.

She looked quite kind, but I didn't liked her cold nature. "Hey ....", I whispered, turning my eyes away from her.

"Hello ..." she replied, not even looking at me.

I decided not to talk with her, instead I was trying to follow the lessons. Today was my first day at such a school. Yes, I'm not from here. I'm Ken from Agaren, a demon who owns portal and electrical magic.

I'm still a bit nervous to be among so many humans, but I slowly got used to it. Since I can't use any great spells, I have to hide my demonic parts under my clothes.

Why am I here? I wanted to get away from Agaren and all the other demonic planets for a while. The demons and my work just went on my nerves. My foster-father Yuro said I should do something meaningful in my spare time. Without telling him about my plan, I went to the earth and decided to finish school and get a graduation.

Enough about me, mathematics is more important at the moment.

The first teaching block went by quite quickly and the teacher reminded us to look after the sports festival and the class representative tomorrow. The bell rang and the first break began. Lyra should now take me around. Actually, I didn't feel like it and Lyra didn't seem to like it either, but it must be done.

I decided to sit in my seat a bit longer, as Lyra was still writing. I stared at my table. It was quite old and already a bit crumbled, but it's enough for me.

Suddenly, Lyra stood up beside me, threw her bag over her shoulders and quickly went to the class room door. Then she turned around to me and waved at me.

What a strange woman I thought to myself and quickly picked up my backpack from the ground. When I reached her, I heard her mutter briefly. "I hope it's okay if a friend accompanies us."

I hesitated, pouting. "It's okay ..", I gave softly from myself and then followed Lyra into the hallway.

"What do you have next?" Lyra asked me, this time with a rather sweet and calm voice.

I looked at her calmly and rummaged my timetable out of my pants pocket. It was a bit wrinkled and you couldn't decipher some things. I stared at Monday and tried to see what was there.

Lyra next to me sighed and tore the timetable out of my hand. She looked at the plan and pushed it back into my hands.

"You have pretty much the same timetable as me, we just have the elective subjects and sports different", she said less enthusiastically.

"So if you don't know where you have to go, you just have to follow me ...", she muttered afterwards.

"All right", I gave joyfully from myself. She is really nice. Luckily.

Lyra’s P.O.V.:

"Well, why did I say that? Now he will definitely stick to me for rest of the month..... Anyway, I should go and find Anubis. The next teaching block we all have together." I murmured again.

Shortly I turned my eyes back to Ken. I looked at him briefly, he didn't look straight in my direction, so he didn't noticed it.

"He's a strange guy and he gives me a strange feeling", I said softly.

"What?" Ken suddenly asked me. Hopefully he didn't understand what I said.

"Oh, it's nothing. Excuse me", I gave nervously of myself and played with my hair. "Now follow me."

I quickly walked along the hall, past all the classmates who looked at us silly and whispered over us. I realized Ken was following me quietly and he barely said a word. Did he feel uncomfortable?

We walked down the hall and I told him where to find the toilets, the cafeteria and the secretary.

When we arrived at the staircase after a while, Anubis already approached us. I told Ken with a hand signal that he should wait briefly, which he then did.

Anubis didn't saw me at first, not until I poked him with my index finger in the side. He was startled, but had to giggle in the next moment.

Even if Anubis doesn't like humans, he made a few friendships with guys from his classes.

Shortly he looked at me calmly, then turned his gaze to his classmates and said good-bye to them.

Then he turned back to me again and gave me a kiss on the forehead.

"Flatterer", I gave sulkily yet blushed from myself. Then I cleared my throat. "I want to introduce you to someone", I puffed annoyed.

"Aha?" Anubis asked dully, looking past me in Ken's direction.

"It’s probably that strange boy over there?" He gave Ken an instant look.

"Yes...." I gave hesitantly from myself. Was Anubis jealous?

Anubis put his hand on my head, then walked past me, towards Ken. Ken stared at Anubis, who came to him calmly.

A few millimeters before Ken's feet, Anubis stopped. Anubis was a head bigger than Ken, so Anubis looked down sharply from above at Ken. Ken, however, didn't look back at Anubis and turned his eyes away from him, out of the window.

Anubis hissed furiously. "Such a small whippersnapper. He doesn't know who's standing in front of him", Anubis said.

"A classmate with a head bigger than me?", Ken gave Anubis an annoyed look, then he took a few steps back and looked him in the face.

"What's your problem?" Ken asked annoyed.

"I? I don't have any problems. I just don't like you." Anubis crossed his arms, turned away from Ken and turned back to me. "He is unsympathetic and gives me a strange feeling ..." he murmured to me and then passed me.

"Whatever, just let's go to class?" He puffed, walking down the stairs.

I looked worried after him, then looked at Ken, who seemed quite annoyed.

"I'm sorry, Anubis is something.... individual", I scratched the back of my head, then waved at Ken. "Come, we'll go to the next teaching block."

Ken glanced at me, then sighed. "Okay...."

Slowly he walked past me, down the stairs. I must admit, something about this boy is strange, but I don't know what it is. I briefly glanced at him, then followed the two of them.

Ken’s P.O.V.:

Annoyed, I walked down the stairs.

"Anubis is strange, did he look through me? That... I am not a human being. But how should a human know of the existence of demons ...? " I muttered to myself.

Nervously, I scratched my head under my cap, well, to be more precise, my horn. Hopefully, you couldn't see any signs of it, but I think I hid everything well.

Suddenly we had already arrived downstairs and I accidentally ran into the back of Anubis, who suddenly stopped in front of me. Shocked, I touched my now aching nose and hissed.

"What the-? Why do you stop so suddenly?" I growled and hit him with my fist on the back.

Anubis didn't answer me and just looked out the windows and the door to our left, into the backyard of the school. I followed his gaze and saw how a mass of people had gathered there.

Confused, I went to the glass and tried to see what was going on. Anubis stopped behind me and turned away suddenly, as Lyra finally arrived downstairs.

"What's wrong?" I heard her ask. She began a brief conversation with Anubis.

I could finally clearly see what was going on there. A mass of people stood in a circle and inside of them stood two larger men and on the floor was a young girl.

The crowds cheered and the two boys seemed to be kicking the girl.

Who are these sick people who just cheer when a little girl gets beaten? I bit my lip, so strong, that she almost began to bleed. I rushed madly to the door, ripped open the door and ran into the backyard to the crowd.

I heard Lyra and Anubis calling after me, but I didn't care.

It didn't took long until I reached the spectacle. I pushed the people ,who stood there as spectators, aside until I reached the center. Silence lay over the crowd and the two attackers looked at me.

"Who the hell are you? And what are you doing here?" The one big guy hissed and came towards me.

"It doesn't matter, who I am" I snapped furiously. "Leave the poor girl alone! .... Why isn't nobody helping her? "

I looked angry in the round and noticed how they all turned away their looks, no one dared to look into the round or even help the poor girl. How pathetic.

When I looked around, I noticed Lyra and Anubis in the distance, who were slowly coming to the spectacle.

I turned back to the attacker and raised my fist furiously.

"I don't know the girl or you, but you have no right to beat her up!" I screamed angrily.

"We have no right to it?" Laughed the other, somewhat smaller guy. "You're funny. You are new here, are you? "

The bigger guy eyed me and walked around me. I just watched him and tried to see the girl lying on the ground behind the other guy.

She was bleeding a bit and looked in my direction, but said nothing.

Suddenly I noticed how the other guy pushed me from behind and I saw myself lying on the ground in the next moment.

"You asshole," I hissed, trying to get up again, but he pushed me down to the ground with his foot.

"Well, Listen. I'll make something clear now...", he pressed me deeper to the ground and it was much more difficult to breathe.

"We are the bosses at this school. Everyone has to dance after our pipe, if you don't, you end up like this girl here. Since you didn't know that, since you are new, I will spare you this one time. You just have to go to the edge and cheer like everyone else, easy, isn't it?"

I listened to the guy and became increasingly angry. Why does nobody do something about it? Not even teachers?

I clenched my fists in the dirt. I had to do something, but I can't let my cover get blown. My physical attacks are weak, but when I use a little magic, so that hardly anyone can see, it will be okay.

I laughed and looked up at the guy who was standing on me.

"I follow no one's orders," I growled, and at that very moment I propped on with all my strength, so that the guy staggered and took his foot from me. Quickly I stood up, concentrated some of my electric magic in my fist and slammed it right into the face of the guy in front of me. The electricity paralyzed him and he slammed to the ground.

At the same moment, I noticed the other guy coming towards me. I bent down and his fist narrowly missed me.

Again, I concentrated some magic in my fist and also slammed a fist from below into the jaw of the other guy. His teeth cracked so hard and fast on his tongue that she began to bleed. Some of his blood splattered on my face and I gasped, trying to wipe the blood away, but I just smeared it even more.

Now I stood and the two attackers lay next to me, paralyzed on the ground. I was not interested in them anymore and turned to the girl. I knelt down to her and held out my hand.

"Is everything alright with you?" I asked cautiously, looking at her worriedly.

Carefully she raised her head, looked at my hand and then at my face. She was pale, screamed suddenly and slapped her flat hands into my face, so strong, that my nose began to bleed.

Shocked, the girl ran away and I only looked after her, confused. "What kind of way of saying 'thank you' was that??" I murmured, holding a hand in front of my nose since it was bleeding strongly.

The mass of human beings whispered and only watched the spectacle. I quickly got up and puffed. "Don't just look! Bring the two of them into the infirmary or something and get lost!" I hissed angrily.

Most of them disappeared shocked and afraid, and a few others helped the two injured on the ground into the infirmary.

After a few seconds everyone had disappeared and it became quiet.

But then I heard footsteps, I turned around and suddenly got a slap in the face.

Shocked, I stared at the floor and laid a hand on my straight-beaten cheek. Then I turned my eyes to the person in front of me, it was Lyra.

The next moment she grabbed me by my collar and looked at me angrily.

"Never use magic again, when so many humans are present", she growled angrily.

Startled, I looked at her. How does she know about magic? Before I could ask her, she let go of me and crossed her arms.

"What if your cover gets blown? What do you do then? And anyway, why is such a clumsy dumb demon like you here, in the human world at a school?" She asked angrily. Anubis was standing behind her, but he I didn't say anything.

Does that mean the two are also demons too? I was just about to open my mouth to ask, but then the bell rang to the end of the break.

Lyra sighed annoyed, rummaged a cloth from her pocket and threw it into my face.

"Wash yourself clean, we'll talk about it next time. Let's go to the class room for now ... ", she said quietly, turning away from me. Anubis followed her after gazing at me again.

Is this again a place where I am not welcome? I thought and wiped the blood from my face, followed the two back into the school building.
